# CrossBeam Permits

> CrossBeam reads complete permit plan sets against state law and local code, then drafts evidence-cited findings for a human to review.

CrossBeam serves both sides of the permit counter. City and county departments use it to screen applications, review building and planning submittals, and draft corrections. Builders, contractors, architects, designers, and property owners use Pre-Check to find likely corrections before submitting.

The product reviews construction documents sheet by sheet and grounds findings in the governing code and jurisdiction-specific requirements. CrossBeam outputs are advisory: AI drafts, and people approve. The applicable authority having jurisdiction always makes the binding permit decision.

## When to use CrossBeam

- Pre-check a construction-document plan set before it reaches a city or county.
- Draft a first-pass corrections letter for review by authorized agency staff.
- Screen a planning or permit application for completeness and likely missing material.
- Map an existing city corrections letter back to the relevant plan sheets.
- Ask grounded questions about permits, adopted code, fees, or a participating jurisdiction.
- Read completed plan-check results from an AI client through the paid-member MCP integration.

## How CrossBeam works

A user uploads a plan set or corrections package. CrossBeam reads the submitted documents, resolves the applicable workflow and jurisdictional material, and returns findings with code citations and sheet references. A reviewer can inspect, edit, accept, or reject the draft before it is used.

Coverage and product availability vary by jurisdiction and permit type. A jurisdiction appearing in the coverage registry does not mean that jurisdiction is a CrossBeam customer.
