What does CrossBeam do for a city reviewer?
Quick answer: CrossBeam reads a builder's plan set, runs an AI plan check against state building code and your city's municipal code, and hands you a ready-to-review draft — a findings list you can Accept / Reject / Modify / Skip, plus a Plan Check Corrections -- Draft letter with code citations already inserted. You then make a judgment call on every item before you issue the letter.
What the AI does for you
- Opens every sheet in the submittal and checks the plans against CBC, CRC, CPC, CMC, CEC, CALGreen, and your local municipal code.
- Produces a list of findings grouped by sheet, each tagged Fail / Flag / Pass.
- Drops a pin on the sheet for every finding so you can see where on the drawing the issue is.
- Drafts a Corrections Letter organized by section (Planning/Zoning, Building, Fire/Life Safety, Site/Civil, Process).
- Tags items the AI is certain about vs. items it wants a human to [VERIFY] or that require [REVIEWER] professional judgment.
- Lists Items Reviewed -- No Corrections Required and Items Dropped from Review so nothing is hidden from you.
What you still do
- Accept, Reject, Modify, or Skip each finding.
- Add anything the AI missed.
