How do I use the Assistant drawer to ask about a finding?
Quick answer: The Assistant button top-right of the Findings toolbar toggles a right-rail chat drawer scoped to this submittal. To ask about a specific finding, hover its card and click the chat icon (bottom-right) — the Assistant opens with the sheet image and that finding's context already loaded. You can have multiple named tabs in the drawer at once.
Status: This page is a draft. The Assistant behavior is the same as the builder-side Plan Review Assistant; the reviewer UX has not been fully re-clicked end-to-end. Reviewer-specific nuance (e.g. city-code tool access, per-finding Accept / Reject / Modify workflow) will be added after the next pass.
Two ways to open it
- Drawer-wide chat — click Assistant top-right. When active, the button is solid green; when off, outlined.
- Per-finding chat — hover an expanded finding card, click the chat icon (bottom-right of the card). The Assistant opens in a new tab scoped to that finding, with the sheet image attached as context.
What the Assistant can do
- Explain an AI finding in plain language.
- Look up code sections the finding cites (CBC, CRC, CPC, CMC, CEC, CALGreen) and your city's municipal code.
- Read the sheet image and answer questions about the drawing itself.
- Compare this submittal to the rule the AI flagged.
Tabs
The drawer supports multiple tabs so you can pin questions — e.g. one tab per finding you're still unsure about. Click + to open a new tab.
